The Syracuse (NY) Post-Standard (12/23) reports that the New York State Health Department announced Monday that 225,244 people have enrolled in coverage through the state health insurance exchange since Nov. 15. The figure “represents individuals who signed up and had not been enrolled in coverage for 2014.”
The New York Daily News (12/23) reports in its “Daily Politics” blog that Donna Frescatore, executive director of the exchange, said, “Thanks to the incredibly strong commitment of our partners, staff, and consumers across the state, we are very pleased to announce that enrollment for New Yorkers in quality affordable health insurance plans continues to increase steadily,” adding, “We will continue to build on this success and boost our grassroots efforts to reach as many New Yorkers as possible in our drive to get them covered before February 15.”
The Albany (NY) Times Union (12/23) and Buffalo (NY) Business First (12/23, Drury, Subscription Publication) also report the story.
