Jeffrey R. Ungvary

After graduating from Ithaca College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and an Economics minor, Jeff spent 10 years with Aetna Inc. At Aetna, Jeff held various positions including Middle Market Account Underwriter, Middle Market Account Manager, Small Business Market Service Team Manager and Account Executive – New Business Broker Sales. He was involved in the sale and installation of over 2,000 accounts, ranging in size from two employees to over 3,500 employees, and was a consistent top-performer earning several sales and service awards.

In March 2001, Jeff was recruited to lead Northwestern Group Marketing, Inc., a well-established company with an eighteen year history. He served as Vice President and Employee Benefits Specialist for twelve years at the firm. At the end of 2012, Jeff acquired Northwestern Group Marketing, Inc., now a part of Strategic Wellness & Insurance Management Services, Inc. (SWIM Inc.). SWIM continued as an independent agency until August 2018, when it partnered with Acrisure – one of the top global brokerages.

Jeff oversees the daily operations of SWIM and is additionally responsible for new business sales and servicing of his existing clients. His experiences working for insurance carriers and as an insurance broker bring a broad range of industry knowledge to our organization. Active in the insurance community, Jeff is a Past President of the New York Metro Chapter of the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU) and he currently or has previously participated in the Broker Advisory Councils of Aetna, Assurant, CareConnect, Emblem, Empire, healthfirst, HealthNet, HIP, Oscar and Oxford/United.

Jeff resides in Bronxville, New York with his wife Jennifer and their three daughters Kat, Holly and Colette. He remains actively involved in the community, having formed the Father’s Committee at the Eliza Corwin Frost Child Center (and served as the Chairperson of the Steering Committee of the Center). He also sits on the Boards of the Community Fund of Bronxville, Eastchester and Tuckahoe, the Bronxville Chamber of Commerce and he’s on the Parish Council of his church. Jeff’s other charitable efforts include COVID-19 fundraising, hair raising and fundraising for Movember, and assisting Concordia College with their fundraising efforts.

In his exceedingly rare spare time, Jeff enjoys swimming, spinning/biking, skiing, surfing and golfing. His swimming accolades include eleven collegiate All-American awards, and in 2016 he was inducted into the Ithaca College Athletics Hall of Fame.
